Corrections Policy

When we are wrong.

Errors happen in every newsroom. What matters is how quickly and openly they are fixed.

When a reader, client or staff member reports a possible error, an editor reviews it the same business day. If the error is confirmed, we correct the text and, with the client’s approval, add a dated correction note at the foot of the piece within 48 hours.

What counts as a correction

Any factual error: a wrong number, date, name, title or characterization of a source. Typos that do not change meaning are fixed without a note.

Regulated clients

For regulated clients, corrections go through the same compliance review as the original, and the corrected version is archived alongside the original.
